
Duties include: filing all complaints and pleadings brought in the various courts; Maintaining the dockets and trial schedules of the courts; The keeping of all records of judicial matters filed in the courts; Issuance of all legal process from the courts; Reporting the activity of the courts; Accounting for the financial activity of the offices; Preparation and management of the annual operational budget; Jury Coordinator and Law Librarian. The Clerk maintains four separate office locations, employs 20 deputy clerks, files more than 20,000 new cases each year, and on average collects and disburses $4,000,000 annually.
To receive, disburse, and account for the many various funds paid into the courts;
To facilitate the fair and effective administration of justice in Anderson County through a spirit of cooperation, teamwork, and sharing of responsibility with the many departments, agencies and individuals working in the judicial system;
To do so with accuracy and in strict compliance with the laws of the state of Tennessee always maintaining a constant awareness that we do so in the service of our valued customer,
